  • About 1.8 million people die each year from risks associated with unsafe water, lack of sanitation and poor hygiene (WHO 2005).
  • Are you looking for a toilet? More than 2.6 billion people, over 40 % of the world's population, do not have basic sanitation.
  • How safe is your water? More than one billion people still use unsafe sources of drinking water.
  • Four out of every ten people in the world don't have access even to a simple latrine (UN millennium project).
  • Think about it!! Five million people, mostly children, die each year from water-borne diseases.
