Sanitation Park

On 18th November 2004 the official opening of the Sanitation Park located at the Fiji School of Medicine, Tamavua Campus.
The Park supports the communities in identifying and solving sanitation problems by allowing them to examine and select from a range of appropriate, affordable wastewater treatment options.
The project and implementation team include, the World Health Organisation, Fiji (WHO), Fiji School of Medicine (FSM) and SOPAC.
The Sanitation Park was initially launched with funding from New Zealand Agency for International Development (NZAID).

The Park held an Open Day on 6 August 2008, to introduce members of the WASH Coalition to the Park and allow on-going collaboration to be strengthened in the area of sanitation.
It is envisaged that the Park would be utilized to a greater extent through the Coalition members as a teaching tool and allow further dissemination of knowledge on affordable sanitation technologies in Fiji and the region.
