WSSCC and the Pacific WASH Coalition
SPC/SOPAC as the secretariat for the Pacific WASH Coalition has been able to partner with the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council in supporting pacific efforts in WASH. The mission of WSSCC is to achieve sustainable water supply, sanitation and hygiene for all people in the world.
The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) is a global multi-stakeholder partnership and membership organisation that works to save lives and improve livelihoods. WSSCC has coalitions in 35 countries, members in more than 160 countries, and a Geneva-based Secretariat hosted by UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services).
The Pacific WASH Coalition has been able to support Pacific activities since 2008 which was the International Year of Sanitation. These projects cross various themes appropriately in the area of WASH relevant to the Pacific and have involved strong themes in hygiene promotion in primary schools and advocacy for WASH. Listed below are some of the projects supported by WSSCC and implemented in partnership by the Pacific WASH Coalition.
