World Water Day
World Water Day 2011- Water for Cities: Responding to the Urban Challenge World Water Day also referred to, as ‘World Day for Water’ is a regionally and globally recognised annual event to help focus on water, its development and conservation and implementation of recommendations of Agenda 21. World Water Day is traditionally observed on 22nd March each year.
SPC/SOPAC will take an active role in the planned 2011activities for the celebration for world water day in collaboration with UN-Habitat our Pacific WASH coalition partners who are the lead United Nations agency for world water day 2011.
The global theme for World Water Day 2011 is : "Water for Cities Responding to the Urban Challenge"

The pacific theme for World Water Day 2011 is: "Working Together for Water Management in Pacific Urban Communities"
The SPC/SOPAC Programme has coordinated World Water Day Campaigns for past several years and has recently partnered with its Pacific WASH Coalition partners of which UN-Habitat is a member of. WWD campaigns have included the development and distribution of publication material, organising regional competitions, and marking the day with a public awareness event.
The following are some a collection of stickers produced to mark the 2011 event advocating for key themes along water conservation and safe water storage.
